Citizenship Classes

Our Citizenship Classes are at the heart of our mission. Our team is dedicated to helping immigrants obtain citizenship, affording them essential rights and protections enjoyed by U.S. Citizens.

Through our Citizenship Classes, we equip adult immigrants with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the naturalization exam. By doing so, we aim to help them secure full U.S. Citizenship, granting them access to valuable rights and protections such as voting, federal job opportunities, retirement security, education options, and active participation in civic life.

English Language Classes:

Language is a powerful tool for inclusion and empowerment. Our English Language classes empower adult immigrants by improving their English language skills, facilitating effective communications, and fostering a deeper sense of belonging in their new community. We aim to boost their confidence and communication abilities, enriching lives within our community.

Internships and Volunteer Opportunities:

We equip dedicated interns and volunteers to provide vital support and guidance to community members navigating legal processes. Our trained interns and volunteers play a vital role in supporting local immigrant communities by providing Know Your Rights presentations, facilitating citizenship workshops, assisting with immigration applications, and connecting immigrants with essential resources.

Immigration Legal Services:

We understand that access to affordable legal services and trustworthy representation is limited for immigrants, especially in low-income areas. Our legal clinic is accredited by the Department of Justice and provides assistance with requests for renewal of deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA), petitions to remove conditions on residence, applications to renew or replace permanent resident cards, and applications for naturalization. When we cannot represent clients, we connect them with reputable local attorneys for consultation or representation.

Michigan’s government should work for people, not powerful corporations.

Whether you’ve got five minutes or five hours, your time matters. We’re going to need volunteers to collect signatures, knock doors, spread the word, and help bring this ballot initiative to life.
