Empowering Our Community: Michigan United’s Legal Services Making a Difference

Michigan United's Legal Services team is making a real impact on our community, and we're proud to share our progress. Our Legal Service Director and Coordinators have been working tirelessly to improve our internal procedures and structures so we can assist applicants more efficiently and effectively than ever before.

We've already achieved so much! Our Community Navigators had their fourth successful training meeting on November 1st. We welcomed Luis Garza from NPNA, who presented on "Naturalization" and provided practical information and guidance on completing the N400 form.

On November 8th, our Legal Services Coordinator and Immigrant Rights Organizers delivered a powerful "Know Your Rights" Presentation at Saint Gabriel's Catholic Church. Attendees felt empowered and informed, ready to assert their rights and protect themselves from exploitation.

On November 11th, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, our Grand Rapids Legal Services held a Citizenship workshop class that was a huge success. Citizenship students were able to meet with their legal counsel and complete their application process with Michigan United, thanks to the hard work of our dedicated volunteers.

We're also excited about our upcoming Navigators meeting on November 15th, and we can't wait to share more updates with you!

At our Detroit office, we offer a Citizenship class every Monday at 6 pm, and we also host an ESL class at Unity Lutheran Church in Southgate on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Both cycles end in the second week of December.

Our Legal Services department is passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals and realize their dreams. We're committed to providing support and guidance every step of the way and are here to make a real difference in our community. Please support us by volunteering and becoming a member of Michigan United today. Together, we can achieve great things!

we can make change
