Our Work

Michigan United is working for a more just world where everyone has a fair shot at a dignified life.

Environmental Justice

Ensuring environmental justice for all is a fundamental aspect of our mission. We firmly believe that every individual, regardless of their socioeconomic status or ethnicity, deserves access to clean air, clean water, and the rejuvenating benefits of nature. Unfortunately, the reality is that certain communities bear the brunt of environmental degradation due to the actions of powerful corporations.

Immigrant Rights

At the heart of our mission lies a steadfast commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of immigrants, asylum seekers, and refugees. In a state as diverse as Michigan, we believe that every individual, regardless of their origin, deserves to be treated with respect and compassion.

Healthcare

At Michigan United, we are steadfast in our belief that every person deserves access to quality healthcare, unencumbered by financial barriers or discriminatory practices. Health is a fundamental human right, not a privilege reserved for the fortunate few.

Transformative Justice

Michigan faces a stark reality: too many of our fellow citizens are ensnared in the prison industrial complex, with consequences that ripple through families and communities. Our state has one of the Midwest’s highest incarceration rates, so we recognize the urgent need for change.

Movement Politics

Embracing the urgency of our times, Movement Politics stands as a beacon of change amidst rising inequality, climate crisis, and democratic erosion. Recognizing the failures of traditional politics to address these pressing issues, we refuse to adhere to business-as-usual approaches that cater to the interests of the elite.

Election Protection

Our mission is clear: to cultivate a political landscape where elected officials are accountable to the people they serve, not beholden to special interests or big money donors. We believe in a government that works for all, not just the wealthy few.
