We were in Detroit on 9/18, standing against a DTE rate hike

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, we were at Mumford High School in Detroit for a public hearing of Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). The MPSC is the utility regulator for the state of Michigan. DTE, one of the worst utility providers in the nation, wants another $456.4 million rate hike.

We think enough is enough. We’re already facing skyrocketing bills and endless power outages. DTE is a company more focused on paying off politicians than fixing its failing grid.

Relational organizing is defined as “preparing & supporting people to bring the power within their existing relationships to affect change.” In actuality it is turning a contact into a conversation and then into a person empowered to create change where they live.
